Recently went on trip to China and saw the great wall.I was rushed for time and it was a hours drive from Beijing. It was bitter cold--minus 3-4 degrees Celsius. But it was worth every moment. The Wall stretching across hills and dales curving, descending and then rising up like a careless ribbon thrown on the green mountainsides. So many must have stood there watching enemies coming in droves--many may have been killed--today i stood with them on the same spot!!!!!

Fortitude and strength oozes from every brick,
Witness to infinite wars,
Sometimes won, at times amiss.
Few get a chance to reach such majestic heights,
My father stood there;
This thought fills me with pride!
